29th June 2009
Dear Parents
Thank you for supporting the summer fair. Although the weather wasn’t brilliant we had a good turnout. We are waiting for the total of how much was raised, to be split between the two schools and the church.
We are really pleased with the nursery improvements. The building is now much lighter and newly decorated but the fantastic play area obviously appeals to the children. On Friday we had a short dedication and thanksgiving service led by Fr Stephen and the area was officially opened by Mr Maurice Smith who is the Education Director of Manchester Diocese. The children sang beautifully and had great fun playing in the sunshine.
We have just 15 school days remaining in this school year with lots to fit in! This is the planned week for our sports days. Obviously we are dependent o the weather. Even if the day is fine the field can be very waterlogged if there is any heavy rain. We will keep you informed on a daily basis. If the extreme heat comes which is forecast we will take precautions to limit the amount of time children are in the sun.
This week:
Tuesday: Year 1 and year 2 sports begin at 2.00pm
Wednesday: Nursery sports this morning at 10.30am and again this afternoon at 2.00pm. Toddler group today in the hall.
Thursday: Reception classes sports begin at 2.00pm
Acorn farm visit nursery. This is always popular and Mrs Buckley invites children from school to visit during the day.
Monday 6thJuly Key stage 1 children (years 1 and 2) will be visiting Formby beach and nature reserve. There will be no charge to parents for this trip. Please ensure that you have received the additional information and returned your permission slip. Thank you.
Yours sincerely
